𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 nothing “big” changed…𝘢𝘯𝘥 you still felt better?⁣
⁣
Not because all your challenges vanished, but because you started 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺.⁣
⁣
I was introduced to award winning poet, Ross Gay’s work when I was listening to 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁, 𝘞𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘋𝘰 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 (if you’re not a Pod Squadder yet, jump in!) ⁣
⁣
Ross's premise in writing 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 was to write about one thing daily that he found delightful. ⁣
⁣
When the world feels heavy, overwhelming, or just…blah (pretty often since January 20, 2025), this is where I often begin to shift with myself, my friends and my clients:⁣
⁣
The invitation to find 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 that delights us. Then we take a picture of it and share it with one another or it could even be a text simply naming the thing. ⁣
⁣
I call it the 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 (DoD) Check In. ⁣
⁣
It’s 𝗻𝗼𝘁 forced gratitude or toxic positivity (ick!) or “well at least” nonsense. We’re not diminishing any feelings. Rather we're allowing…⁣
⁣
For a moment that makes you 𝘱𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦…maybe 𝘴𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘦 or 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘦𝘹𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘦. ⁣
⁣
It can be absolutely anything.
☕ The way the sunlight hits your chai.⁣
🌹 A rose that bloomed overnight. ⁣
🔮 The magic of the full moon.
🐶 A puppy taking a nap.⁣
⁣
𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 and share. ⁣
It’s simple and powerful. ⁣
⁣
As Ross Gay writes, “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦.” It works. It disrupts the doom, even if temporarily and creates a shift. ⁣

To follow me or not to follow me.
That is the question.
Some spaces just resonate and others...just don't. You either enjoy the vibe or don't.

🍕 𝘐’𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘱𝘪𝘻𝘻𝘢- I’m not for everyone (and if you don’t like pizza, please explain in the comments) 🙃⁣
⁣
I don’t stay in one lane, because the human experience has multiple lanes and directions. ⁣
⁣
I don’t create content for everyone and I'm not the right coach for everyone.
I resonate with and coach people who are willing to look inward with honesty and curiosity 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 at times it feels uncomfortable.⁣
⁣
I work with and geek out on nervous system regulation, breathwork, emotional patterns, somatics, neuroscience, relational dynamics, control free parenting, and the subconscious layers that shape how we show up in life.⁣
⁣
And when a client is open to it, I also weave into our work symbolic and meaning-based systems like astrology, numerology, Human Design, Gene Keys, and lunar cycles (love me some moon magic!)🔮 I use these elements not as 𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘴 to live by, but as 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴 for reflection, awareness and deeper understanding of self. ⁣
⁣
𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 for quick fixes, certainty, surface level vanilla conversations or being told what to think, I'm not for you.
And that's ok (refer to above 🍕 statement). ⁣
⁣
𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 to disrupt patterns, expand awareness, get sparks to help you think outside the box, transform some suck into sparkle and have some fun too, then grab your beverage and settle in, 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦. ⁣Tell your friends!

The same kiddo that gets spanked,
gets in trouble when they hit their sibling 🤔⁣

If an 𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘵 hits a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, ⁣we call it discipline.⁣
If an 𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘵 hits an 𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘵, ⁣we call it assault.⁣
⁣
𝗦𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁.⁣
⁣
And before the “I was spanked and I turned out fine” ⁣𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯… Remember, you have no way of knowing how much 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦-𝘦𝘳 you coulda, woulda been if you were never spanked.⁣
⁣
Did being physically hit by a parent teach healthy communication and problem solving?
Safety and trust in relationships?⁣
⁣
Or did it teach you to stay quiet and hide.
Avoid consequences (lie) and confuse fear of physical pain with respect for your elders?⁣

𝗻𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 of positive outcomes—𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸.⁣

𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 in respecting and understanding cultural practices.However, culture doesn't justify behavior nor change the outcomes.
⁣
Effective parenting is about the 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦.
Not just the child in front of you right now, rather the 𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘯 𝟸𝟶 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴. ⁣
⁣
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 is: ⁣
Connection. Embodiment. Having clear, consistent boundaries. Building mutual respect
(yeah, I said it. Respect is a two way street)⁣

That’s the work. And it’s so worth it! ⁣
⁣
